Two Book Groups Meet each Month

At the February meeting we reviewed “Birds without Wings” by Louis de Bernieres and rated it 7.5 out of 10. The book was based on events around 100 years ago in Turkey and Greece. We improved our knowledge of the Ottoman Empire and the enmity between Muslims and Christians.

We will review “Scrublands” by Chris Hammer at the next meeting on March 12 at Athelstan.    A good detective story.

Wednesday Afternoon Book Group :

At our first meeting for the year we welcomed two new members.                                       

The book discussed was 'The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart' by Holly Ringland.    

This provided a good discussion but finishes with some unanswered questions. Well written and endorsed by the group.
